Great picture Jim, what year was it? Robert, Thru 1961 they ran Sportsman, Amateur and Rookie divisions. Basically the only difference in the sportsman and amateur cars was the engine size but they were old coupes and coaches. 1962 was the first year for the Late Model division that allowed current year models to run. I think that Rockingham was one of the first tracks to make the change.

Dennis, did Monk have a brother, or a friend named, Mickey? I remember seeing "Monk and Mickey" on his cars. Could have been his wife, I reckon.

Bobby, I don't know who Mickey is but I'll ask dad to see if he knows. You could also get Jim Wilmore to ask Jack Smith, he would probably know.

the 1958 ford pic was taken at the old fayetteville speedway.. the 1965 ford pic was taken at Champion speedway in fayetteville, i think. You mentioned Jack Smith, he recently passed away.

Bobby, I have found that Monk did have a younger brother named Mickey and that he ran a Chevy (#42)at Rockingham in '65 while Monk wheeled the '65 Ford shown above.
