Exactly 10 years after the photo above, in 1977 , as reported in the Fredericksburg Free Lance Star , Ted Hairfield won Southside Speedway's most prestigious NASCAR race for the 3rd time, tying Ray Hendrick for most wins. Ted's 1977 win, however, came behind the wheel of a NASCAR Late Model Sportsman , rather than his beloved #4 "Snake Bite" M odified coupe that claimed the 1962 and 1967 Virginia 400 .
