That #39 Frank Edwards Chevelle driven by Eddie Royster was a good looking, good running car. Gold with black numbers. Emanuel Zervakis ran 3 feature races and Four 10-lap heats, starting at 8:30 and got you out by 10:30. 2 solid hours of racing. Everything was organized to a tee. No down time. As cars left the track from one event off the back stretch in turn 3, cars were coming out of garage gate in turn 4 to line up for the next. They were the best run, best organized races I've ever seen at any track anywhere in the country.
I watched Eddie Royster win at the half-mile asphalt Cumberland County Speedway in Fayetteville as reported by the Associated Press in the September 3, 1973 edition of the Spartanburg Herald-Journal . The track is now the dirt Fayetteville Speedway.
