Hmm, been awhile. Well not too much has happened since my last entry. But when it DID happen it's been pretty good.
I was honored, (amazed, surprised, floored, agog, etc. etc.) to be inducted into the Mt. Clemens Race Track Hall of Fame. I accepted it as more of an honor for my family. Well, except my mother. SHE WAS ALREADY IN. She was honored as being one of the pioneering female racers of the "Powder Puff" division in the middle 60's.
There were people who did more, and people who did less who has received this honor, than I did. But my place is about what I did and the reasons I did them. I'm satisfied in what I did to support the track and racing in the area.
Oh, and about the little rant in an earlier post. I practiced what I preached. I recently had the honor of lettering (by hand, real paint, real brushes) a tribute car patterned after my local racing hero, Ray Nece, by his son, John. Because of the issues that forced me to retire from the lettering biz, it took 12 hours, over 3 days to do what use to be a 6 hour job. I got it done, and pretty darn good too, for someone who hadn't picked up a brush in 12 or, so years. I don't have any pics on the Kindle I'm sending this on, so I'll post some later.
Sometimes, it IS all worth it.
Congratulations Dennis!
Thank you, Dennis.
