Here's How the car looked on display at the Mich. Auto Racing Fan Club's 50th Anniversary Banquet.
Below: John's partners in "crime". Below: Me, car owner John Nece, paint & body guy Brian Norton, John's long time friend and crew member Terry McKay.
The cars next appearance will be at Detroit's Autorama (Feb '16). The world's largest Custom and Competition car show.
Below is a 1963 ramp truck car hauler that looks very similar to a truck that transported some of Ray's race cars, that John found somewhere. If it's painted in time, it will be with the car at Autorama.
The Banquet was attended by Bob Jenkins (ESPN, ABC, NBCSN, and Indy Speedway Radio Network). He received the Tom Carnagie-Eddie Sachs Lifetime Achievement Media Award presented, as always, by Eddie Sachs Jr. (Actually he's the Third. Eddie Sachs, Jr. was the Indy driver. The patriarch of the family was always referred to as Edward.) It's the only award the legendary Speedway Announcer gave approval to use his name. Bob was excited and quite complimentary to the MARFC. And of course, 'A good time was had by all'. (Doesn't everyone say that?)
