This is my late Father-in-Law along with some good friends.
It was indeed Lester, the car was built by Skip of "Al & Skips" Auto body on Jefferson Avenue along with the original 57 Chevrolet #64 crew of Dicky, Jerry & Emmett and limited involvement by myself at that point. Was a crew member for Lester from the time I was about 10 up until my mid to late teens. Did Southside every Friday night, South Boston on Saturday and back to Langley for Sunday. Did that all because of Lester and the crews generosity. I was a neighborhood kid from right around corner and was treated like family. They paid for everything, wives bought me the obligatory uniform (white jeans and red shirt) and I rode into every track hiding in the car on the back of the hauler at every track, every week. Wish more people knew about Lester, we were obviously pre social media. When we ran the #64 Limited Sportsman we won many, many races and won track championships I believe it was at Langley and South Boston and both in the same year. Those were some good ol days and Lester was ALWAYS a force to be reckoned with at that time, somewhat of Earnhardt personality at times on and off the track. I truly loved the guy and his sweet wife Juanita, they did treat me like a third son.
