So sorry to hear of the passing of Harold (Glenn) Dunaway. He was a very special guy - friend, father, husband. Visitation tonight at Green's in Gastonia from 6 - 8 p.m. Burial tomorrow at 2 p.m. Our prayers are with the family. Harold will be missed by the racing community. Dub and Geri Simpson

Lost one of my heroes when Harlold left us. I had known him for almost 50 years. He was a true gentleman and lived his life by example. He never boasted about what he had accomplished. I was blessed to sit and talk to him all these years and share in the history he lived. Copies of the Dunaway scrapbooks are among my most treasured possesions. I thank God I had him for a friend. He would take time to stop and lean down and talk to me when I was 12 years old and I am 62 now. I'll never forget him.
