Looking for Neil Bonnett's 1934 Coupe
Stock Car Racing History
Neil built the car as mostly a kit while he was off after his wreck in Charlotte in '87. The car was a red sedan with suicide doorsand grey interior. The interior featured recovered front buckets from a Honda Prelude, a LaCarrera steering wheel and a overhead stereo. The engine was a small block Chevy built by Ron Neal of Prototype Racing Engines. Ron was a friend of Neil's from past short track endeavors. The car also featured 5 spoke Ultra wheels, with low profile tires in front with LARGE Hoosier tires in the rear.
The car was sold to Hank Jones of Sports Image fame, and later obtained by Richard Childress. The car was last seenin RCR's museum, but is no longer there. So only they would know what happened to it from there.
