Steve Kanuika Passes

East Coast legend Steve Kanuika passed away this past Sunday after complications from heart surgery. Steve was well known for his speeds shops and was also a talented racer,builder,and sponsor /promotor of drag racing and the Nostalgia racing movement.Steve became nationally known in the early funny car days through his association and sponsorship of Jungle Jim Leiberman.Another legend of the sport gone.My condolences to Steve's family and friends.

Monk's smart. He knows how to get a team in action! In the accelerator photo I noticed when I first saw it that the lower right is wearing a jacket with what looked like Ronnie or Donnie when I looked with a magnifying glass.Think this is Bones? I didn't meet him until the mid to late 60s and looks may have changed. Gary Gore said:

Not sure what happened to Julio's post but Craig Hennige ,who campaigned the original"Whooppee" A/G Anglia in the 70s and 80s,passed away as a result of a massive heart attack this past weekend.Craig had run a successful Oldies DJ service since hanging up his driving shoes. I've known Craig since he had his little Chevy II and lived up off 295 in DC in the 60s. He had a passion his whole life for drag racing,hot rods and rock and roll.Craig will be sorely missed by the hot rod and racing communities.RIP Whooppee.
