Over the past year or so, I've learned a bit more about using the search function in the forum posts. But over the last couple of days, nothing seems to work. Here are two examples of search queries where I KNOW there should be results - yet none return. Yes, I was able to eventually find them with Google search. But it is imperative that we have one within the site that works.
Brad Teague raced #15 in that race - his only Bud LMS start of the season. Team had a tough time making starts. But, he did make the show at Bristol. Dave Fulton thought Earnhardt may possibly have raced a car for Ed Whitaker as he did in the summer Bristol race. Perhaps the team simply changed Earnhardt's regular 15 into a 45 since Teague already entered with 15. May help explain reasoning for 45 - but would still be good to see a picture.
Dunno. Racing-Reference.info shows Earnhardt raced a #45 at the spring 82 Busch race (then Bud LMS). But could be an error on the site. He raced #15 on his Pontiacs in 82-83, his two years with Bud Moore on the Cup side. Unless some owner offered him a 45 car at Bristol, I would guess racing-reference has a data error & that it should be 15. But without a photo, news article, scoring sheet, etc., I don't know.
First guess - possible data error on Racing-Reference? Solid site, but I've helped them a few corrections over the years.
A couple of possible sources: Grand National Scene or Southern MotorRacing issues from that era or maybe the 1983 Bristol program that may have had pics from the 1982 races. eBay?
Couple of ways. Go to Forum & click into a category. Then click the + sign in the upper right corner to create a new post where you can ask a question.
You can also type a question in the box at the top of your Timeline page. I THINK it shows up on the Activity home page for all to see and respond.
Hope that helps.
Any midwestern short track racing fans recognize the name or car of Ed Pearce? Only thing I've learned about him is he raced at Skyline Speedway in Ohio. He apparently has passed away - although I'm not sure when.
The only image I have of his car is this Schaefer beer sponsored short tracker. Clipped it from a t-shirt auction I spotted on eBay. Would enjoy learning more about Pearce and seeing additional pics of his car.
