Another one I've come to enjoy is Race Car Joe written by Adam Carroll. This cover is by Slaid Cleaves. Not the rowdiest song, so it generally doesn't get added to the race weekend playlist - but I do listen to it individually on my way to a race.
LOL. Gotta say you may be on to something. But considering I can't even carry a tune in a bucket, I give him full marks for his interest, effort, commitment and passion. We've had a good time w/him at our 600 tailgating event the last 3 years - swapping race stories and listening to his music - plenty of his originals + several covers. Each year, our crew asks me if Monte is returning ... to tell more stories.
JW - I'll ditto that. I'm more a fan of singer-songwriter / alternative-country music these days. But I've always dug Rush. Saw them 2x over 6 months in late 2010-early 2011.
