I believe someone else was killed at Dover during the spring race in 1983 due to a lightning strike. I'm sure Dave will remember the race- there was a terrible thunderstorm that blew in at the end of the race and caused the race to finish under yellow. Bobby Allison nipped Darrell Waltrip by inches during the race to the final caution flag.

I know on my end, Greg Fielden's book has Baker's car as an Olds as well. If I were a betting man, I'd say MUCH of racing-reference's data comes verbatim from his books.

I can give another example of makes being wrong- Racing-Reference claims Buddy Baker drove a Hoss Ellington Oldsmobile in the 1981 Firecracker 400. However- this picture, taken by my brother will dispute that.

Apologies for the audio only playing from 1 speaker...apparently when I recorded this from VHS over to DVD, I only had the one channel input for the sound. I can fix it...but sometimes when I do it, it screws the audio/video sync up.
