Nearly time to saddle up, but with who?

Stock Car Racing History

Patty, I see and understand your point but I just can't bring myself to cheer openly for a Ford or Toyota. That is my issue, not that it has to be a Chevy, but it CAN'Tbe aFord or Toyota. I to have been impressed with the Busch brothers over the last several years but do not like their image or attitude. Looking at the list:

McMurray

Kahne

Danica Patrick

Stewart

Gordon

Menard

Harvick

Burton

Newman

Montoya

Johnson

Jr

Kurt Busch

I don't like any of these drivers. I pulled for Bowyer when he sported the Bowtir but I can't cheer for a Yota.

Nearly time to saddle up, but with who?

Stock Car Racing History

Long time no see folks, been a busy year. I am calling on the wisdom of this group to help with a very perplexing issue for me. Who Can I Pull For In 2013? As Ive stated before I am a Chevy fan, have been since 1972. With none of the Bowtie Jockeys appealing to me and my dislike of both Ford and Toyota, I dont have a driver to cheer for. This is making it very difficult to look forward to next year. So I need your help. Now please, Do NOT give me that Pull For Jr crap, Id rather continue pulling for Dodge next year "in absentia". Help me out here, state your case for who you think I should pull for. Thanks

American Ethanol Project Future?

General

I HATE THIS STUFF. I have had problems with all my lawn equipment and small engines for the last 4 years and at times with my very thristy V8 Nissan Titan. I have been looking for pure gas or a good product to fix all my ethanol issues. Recently I put the same peice of equipment in the shop in December when it wouldn't start, brought it home and used it 1 time and had to take it back to the shop in April when it wouldn't start again. Ethanol sitting in the carb was the problem. Fortunatly I wasn't charged the second time. The shop told me of a product that would removeall the gunk left behind by the sitting ethanol and it has worked for me so far, Mechanic InA Bottle, sold at Home Depot. I use it in everything, trucks, boat, lawn equipment, anything that burns gas, 2 or 4 cycle and I've not had the problems since.

A few weeks ago I found a station 8 miles from home that sells pure gas but it is about .40 more per gallon. I've filled up a few times but at that cost I can't do it all the time. I wish ethanol would be removed from all but a very few stations for those that can't tell the difference and only pure gas put back in it's place. I prefer my corn in my cereal and on the cob, not in my tank.

THE GRASSY KNOLL AT THE GLEN

Current NASCAR

Coach Joe Gibbs will be on John Boy & Billy around 9:10 Thursday morning. Wonder if he will let the cat out of the bag if his teams are being favored by France and Company.

THE GRASSY KNOLL AT THE GLEN

Current NASCAR

Tim, in a world full of shadows it's too easy to see things that may, or may not, be there. I loved the final few laps of the race and I honestly am looking forward to the return to WGI next year. I am of the opinion that there was oil on the track and it had been getting a little worst as the laps wound down. Too many cars were slithering around including Stewart and Gordon. With 2 laps to go the TV showed the top 3 coming out of turn 5 and KuBu had a slight lead and he started veering from side to side and everyone thought he was out of gas. We now know he was checking to see if a tire was down or if they were dirty. I don't see a conspiracy, what I saw was 3 RACERS doing all they could to win the race, all affected by the conditions the last several laps ending with KuBu slipping wide in turn one and Bad Brad filling the hole.

Was NASCAR playing favorites by letting the race remain under green with KuBu in the lead? It will much more than what I saw to convince of that. I couldn't see anything on the track and I was looking hard to see it. I do think that the corner workers would have reported it if it was noticed. I like your thinking and with the history of the front office I can see why we all could see shadows everywhere.

COULD THIS BE THE DAY???????

Current NASCAR

Wish he had run out of gas, or blistered a tire, or crashed, or lost the handle, or got a pit road penalty, or blown an engine.......

Is there a "Magic Bullet" out there?

Stock Car Racing History

I understand and agree with you, thus the "Back to nearly stock" comment. Is it possible for NASCAR to back up from the ledge they are on? Can the so called thinkers in the main office willingly lighten their grip and release some control for the betterment of the sport? We all know the answer to these questions, but I truely wonder if these same people in Daytona really see the sport as I do? As you and many others do? At some point reality has to come into focus and big changes will have to be made.

Muti car teams dominate.

Aero has destroyed the racing.

Common templates remove brand recognition.

Engineers havecastrated the need for driver talent.

Money has cheapened the sport while making many rich.

Fans today are being deprived of honest to goodness NASCAR racing.

I'm a fan for life and I try hard to find enjoyment in every race. It has become a task at times.
