Is this the 2014 Chevy for NASCAR?

General

Saw this on Jayski and looked it up. This new 2014 Chevy Impala could be the the new car to take to the high banks. Looks good in its stock form, could be a good looking racer. This one is shown in its SS Performance add ons so I'm told.

The Bristol Fix???

Current NASCAR

I don't hold much hope for these changes. Before it's over Bruton will rip out all the concrete and try to get it back to what it was. I'm not sure it will fill the seats because I don't think all the fans that have come to the sport in the last 10 years are true diehard fans. When you look at the seating for 160,000 people I have to ask, are there that many true fans that will travel and pay Bruton prices for tickets? Just not sure if a sell out is possible with the economy and the fan base. JMO.

NASCAR Drivers Divided on Proposed Bruton Smith Bristol Changes

Current NASCAR

I've been told for a long time that I'm a little different, and in this case I have to admit I am. I love the new Bristol! I had gotten to the point that I would not watch the old track, I'd watch the beginning and the end, maybe a little in the middle. Most times I would walk in at it would be under another caution with the pace Car racking up the number of laps it would lead. I got so frustrated I would go back out in the shop or yard and piddle till about time for the end of the race. That was not my style of racing.

I heard last year that it had been 11 years since Bristol had a green flag pit stop till the track was changed. That seems a bit high but it did feel that way to me. I like racing, side by side competition, pit strategy and a battle for the checkered flag. All the things the new Bristol now offers. The one after another wrecking, yellow after yellow and the loss of competitive laps are the things I hated about the old Bristol. If they go back to the old track I will still watch as much as I can tolerate. I am a fan and I will tune in and cheer for my favorites no matter the track design.

NASCAR Media Group's Poor Research Regarding Richard Petty / What was the Hall of Fame Staff Doing??

Stock Car Racing History

That is kindda sad that an error like that got past all the "Historians" leading up to the presentation.

Where does this leave Dodge?

Current NASCAR

I'm one of the few that kindda like Robby, but I pull for underdogs instead of the top drivers in the sport. I would like to see him catch a break and get the backing and support he needs to be competitive. I just wonder what Dodge thinks about the money they just spent on worthless promotional photos for the 2013 cup car with Penske. None of the pictures can be used now since the Penske cars will be in Fords next year.

Penske switches to Ford

Current NASCAR

Another one bites the dust, I'm beginning to think it's a conspiracy. I can't find a Chevy driver that excites me and I've been pulling for AJ Allmendinger since he was named to drive the Penske #22 Dodge. With my borderline hatred of the Blue Oval brand I have once again found myself without a driver to support. I guess I will have to pull for Regan Smith and Kurt Busch no matter how little I really desire to.

I agree we all wondered what would happen to the Dodge teams with the diminished corporate help and I'm afraid this may be the last strong team to drive a Mopar. Sure wish Penske had gone with a Bowtie.

The Legend is being punished.

General

Poor Tim, having to watch extended Waltrip TV coverage due to the rain. He must have been a bad boy.
