Joe, without your efforts the 250+ drivers honored here in granite would not be possible. You have been added to the list of "Racing Through History". God Speed.

With Death We Begin "Racing Through History"

Stock Car Racing History

The passing of Joe Cawley brings back my memories of "Racing Through History". Stock Cars, Sportscars, Drag Cars it does not matter. What matters for us and our legacy is what transpired during our time on Earth and how it will be relayed to our young folks. My published thoughts from the late 1990's, with a theme that runs through the veins of RacersReunion, "Racing Through History" and a final tribute to a friend. Joe will be one of those individuals that young folks in the "5WKids Outdoor Learning Area" at the former Augusta International Raceway will be asking.......who, what, when, where, why. Joe, your legacy will not be forgotten. RIP.

Augusta International Raceway Street Names

General

You and the others are so kind. And, with my continued communications with Sherry MacDonald (Her husband Dave has a street) she asked about you often.

Hope to see you and others soon as retirement has finally arrived and a move to Savannah in July.

Good Racing!

Augusta International Raceway Street Names

General

Most fans may not be aware of the Manchester Sub-Division being developed right next to the former Augusta International Raceway three mile road circuit. And, most fans may not be aware that the streets in this 700+ home development are being named for former drivers.

The AIRPS organizationwas asked toname these streets by the developer andstarted with those drivers successful at the road circuit, those drivers from the Augusta, Georgia area and those drivers successful on a Global basis.

So here is the list with the next street going in named for Augusta native Ted Tidwell and will be known as Ted Tidwell Lane. His streetwill be followed by Ken Miles Drive.

Additional streets will be added at some point in the future so be sure to discuss your choices with the AIRPS leadership.

General

Danica is going to get a lot of help from the NA$CAR brass. The organization needs a shot in the arm and this girl will be the one to do it......................at least for a while.
