SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR DAVE FULTON

General

Hi Dave I had walked out of the room for a while and had just came back in and saw your post about the 1961 champ. If I stepped on any toes I apologize also. I have spent some time with Rex in the past couple years and that is the only reason I knew the answer. I too enjoy your posts as well as all the posts here.

Appreciate Dave Despain

I watched both shows Saturday night also. I learned a lot from the shows as well. There was some great old pictures and film on both shows.

Will Daytona Drivers Race to the Front for This Bonus?

General

I think $200,000 is enough to motivate most of the drivers who have a car that is capable to go to the front. If going for the halfway lead doesn't work out and they go back instead of going to the front they still have half of the race to recover.

Danica Guaranteed Daytona 500 Start by Tommy Baldwin

General

I know we will never see it happen but like a lot of people here I would love to see the top 35 guaranteed spots go away. No matter who you are or what your name is if you don't make the field on speed you don't race. There is not much chance for someone to start a new team when they only have 8 spots they may can qualify for and seven if someone uses a Champion's provisional. I think they would need to go back to at least two qualifying sessions but that should not be a problem. NHRA does it and it works for them. I have seen John Force not race because he did not qualify and he still has the same sponsor and the crowd was still there even though he was not racing.

NASCAR's Terry Labonte & Billy Hagan Won Daytona 24 Hours Class 28 Years Ago

Stock Car Racing History

I was with Darrell & Judy Bryant at the visitation in Concord.

When I took your dad's diecast to him at his home in Concord he gave me one of his cajun cook books and also signed my diecast on the hood. I later had Terry sign it on the windshield and Darrell Bryant signed it on the trunk.

Your dad gave me a tour of his home. I loved the floating dance floor and the stories of Amos sitting on the dance floor fishing. I go into that developement every now and then just for the memories.

I am glad you found the site Randy. I know you will enjoy Racersreunion. At 7 pm this evening Racersreunion Radio will be broadcasting on the Zeus Radio Network. Just click on the link at the top left of the main page. I think you will enjoy it.

I have those papers boxed to preserve them but I know where they are. I will try to get them out tomorrow and see if I can find the right size copier to copy them for you.

I don't remember us ever meeting but I did meet Amos when he was a child and saw him again at your dad's visitation.

I have a handmade diecast of the 44 Apache Stove Car. The one that is in the trophy case at Stratagraph was made by the same person. When I bought mine I talked with your dad and he wanted one also. I talked the man into making another one and that is the one in the Stratagraph trophy case.

My wife and I thought quite a bit of your dad. He was always very good to us and will always have a special place in our hearts.
