North South Shootout moved from Myrtle Beach to Caraway Speedway

General

OK guys just received another PR and this one has more info.

SK-Type Modifieds Complete North South Shootout Schedule;
Slate Set for 2011 at Caraway Speedway
Asheboro, NC: Together C&C Racing Promotions & Caraway Speedway have set the slate for the annual North-South Shootout scheduled for November 3-5, 2011 at Caraway Speedway in Caraway, NC. Keeping with tradition, for the ninth installment of the annual event the Tour-Type Modifieds will be joined by the SK-Type Modifieds. The CRA Late Models and the USA Modifieds will also be returning; making the North-South Shootout one of the most diverse short-track events in the country.
This program is what my father built, said Chad Kepley, of C&C Racing Promotions, owner and promoter of the North-South Shootout, and the Hacketts agree that this is how we will move forward for 2012.
The SK-Type Modifieds were the last to be added to the schedule of events. Rules and registration forms have been posted on the events official website northsouthshootout.com.
We will work hard to make sure that what made the North-South Shootout an iconic event remains, said Dale Wolbrink, also of C&C Racing Promotions.
The North-South Shootout had been held at Concord Speedway in Concord, NC for the first eight years. The change of venue to Caraway Speedway took many by surprise. It should; however, have a positive impact on the long-standing event.
With the unexpected passing of my father, there have been so many things to deal with from both a personal and business standpoint. In the transition, I was afraid that the North-South Shootout would suffer. The Hacketts and Caraway Speedway have a very strong race program and a long-standing history of success of their own. They will be great partners in helping to build up the excitement for the event.
For more information including a complete weekend schedule is available online at northsouthshootout.com.

North South Shootout moved from Myrtle Beach to Caraway Speedway

General

For Immediate Release Lexington, NC

(August 18, 2011):

C&C Racing Promotions announced today that they have entered into a marketing agreement with Darren & Renee Hackett of Caraway Speedway for the running of the 2011 North-South Shootout. With this agreement, the 2011 John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout TM Presented In Memory Of Charles Kepley will take place at Caraway Speedway under financial and managerial direction of speedway management. The management and venue change for 2011 comes after much deliberation by C&C Racing Promotions. This was a very difficult decision to make, said Chad Kepley, son of the late Charles Kepley, the owner and founder of the North-South Shootout. With the unexpected passing of my father, there have been so many things to deal with from both a personal and business standpoint. In the transition, I was afraid that the North-South Shootout would suffer. Management of the event will be handled by the staff at Caraway Speedway with input and consultation from C&C Racing Promotions.

Keeping with tradition, the ninth installment of the annual event will feature the Tour-Type Modifieds. The CRA Late Models will also be returning; making the North-South Shootout one of the most diverse short-track events in the country. Additional announcements regarding the support divisions will be made in the coming days. We sincerely apologize for the period of indecision and any inconvenience this may have caused our competitors and fans, added Kepley. We hope that our supporters can appreciate the situation that we have been faced with and that the support will remain for the North-South Shootout. The Hacketts have been long-time business associates of my father and long-time friends of my family. And the race track is a great place for a Modified race. By stepping in during this difficult transition year, the Hacketts are helping to essentially save the race. Caraway Speedway is a NASCAR-sanctioned facility located in Central North Carolina, in Asheboro. It is a half-mile semi-banked oval known for its highly-competitive Modified events. Local accommodations include Comfort, Fairfield, Hampton & Quality Inns along with Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. For more information on the North-South Shootout visit northsouthshootout.com. Two Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing employees arrested in drug bust

General

Two Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing employees arrested in drug bust.

Two employees of Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing, including a pit crew member for Sprint Cup Series driver Juan Pablo Montoya's No. 42 team, were arrested this week on drug charges.

On Tuesday, officers with the Huntersville (N.C.) Police Department arrested Trevor Lysne and Jerome "J.D." Frey in connection with a drug bust that netted 10.5 pounds of marijuana that had been shipped from California, the police report said.

Lysne, 40, is the front tire changer for Montoya's pit crew. Frey, 27, is a part-time racer and a mechanic who works in EGR's shop.

Lysne is charged with trafficking marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling to distribute marijuana. Frey, 27, is also charged with trafficking marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver.

According to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Web site, Lysne was released on a $30,000 secured bond and Frey was released on a $25,000 secured bond. Both have court appearances scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

A spokesman for EGR said the organization was still gathering facts about the incident and had no immediate comment.

NASCAR officials were expected to address the matter later Wednesday afternoon.

Trivia Question

General

OK not sure if I under stand the question but here is what I interpret.

Nascar Champs

#0 = #60, 300, 20

#1= #91, 11,17, 71

#2= #22,92,42,72,27,2,24,20,

#3= #3,300,43,

#4= #43,42,4,44,48,24

#5= #5 Terry Labonte 1996

#6= #6,60

#7= #87,71,17,27

#8= #87,8,88,48

#9= #92,91,9

So I say all the number 0-9 have won championships.
