Brad Keselowski wrecks at Road Atlanta during practice

For those who haven't heard, Brad Keselowski, testing at Road Atlanta today, hit the wall head on going 155 mph after his brakes failed. He got out of the car under his own power, but was taken to the hospital as a safety precaution. Brad tweeted, "Looks like I'll be ok to race this weekend. Blue deuce, not so much. I'll keep u posted" Brad Keselowski was airlifted out of Road Atlanta after his breaks failed causing him to hit hard in turn one. He is alert, with no broken bones, but complaining of soreness in his back, leg and ankle. I will keep you updated as I receive more info.

Car No. 7 Whelen Modified Tour Team Penalized For Rules Violations At NHMS

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. NASCAR announced today the No. 7 team that competes in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour has been penalized as a result of rules violations committed Saturday, July 16 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H. The team was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-I (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used do not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20D-5.9P (the intake manifold ports did not completely seal to the cylinder head ports. The use of metal shim-type intake manifold gaskets is not permitted) of the 2011 NASCAR rule book. The violations were discovered during post-race inspection on July 16.

Mike LaRochelle, crew chief of car No. 7, has been suspended from all NASCAR regional touring series events until Dec. 31, 2011.

Kevin Manion, owner of car No. 7, has been disqualified from the July 16 New Hampshire race, and has been suspended from all NASCAR regional touring series events until Dec. 31, 2011.

Ryan Newman, driver of car No. 7, has been disqualified from the July 16 New Hampshire race.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Randy Rabinowitch and his wife Dena. Randy was in aterribleotorcycle accident Sunday, and his left leg had to be amputated. He is in critical but stable condition in ICU at Grady Memory Hospital on a respirator

We had a John Deer Gator stolen from the Jamil Shrine Temple. I f anyone hears of some with a new one or trying to sell a new one please contact me or the Lexington County SC Sheriff's Dept.

This was brand new John Deere XUV 625I Camo version Gator. It was stolen along with a brand new 6 x 12ft trailer. This was one that was donated to the Jamil Shriners to be raffled off on Dec 10th 2011 with all the proceeds going to Shriners Burn Center.

Sonny Lamphear is a former NASCAR driver from Charlotte, NC. He competed in twelve Nextel Cup events in his career, earning one top-ten.

All of those events came in the 1966 season, when Lamphear entered his Fords in the events. In his debut at Bristol Motor Speedway in the spring, he didn't even complete five laps before falling out with oil pressure problems. That left him 31st. Then came more DNFs at Martinsville and Darlington Speedway . In fact, by the end of the year, Lamphear did not finish any of the twelve events he raced. Despite that, Lamphear earned his best career start (7th) and best career finish (9th-only top ten) at Spartanburg . He did not complete the last forty-four laps of that event. After not being able to improve later in the season, Lamphear disappeared after a 30th place effort at Fonda late in the season and did not return to racing.

A Racers Reunion Member

Jimmy Helms (August 7, 1935- ) is a former NASCAR driver from Charlotte, NC. He competed in eighty-eight Nextel Cup Series events in his career, spanning from 1964 to 1967. Helms earned seven top-tens in his career, bested by a 6th at Langley Field in 1965. 1965 was also his best year in points, coming home 18th.
