NASCAR Star James Hylton Takes Final Laps

Stock Car Racing History

I was fortunate to be in the stands at Richmond when James Hylton won his first GN race in 1970. Also saw him almost win in 1966 at Beltsville, MD - beaten by a foot by Tiny Lund. Ironically, when we had the Derrike Cope Rabanco Racing shop in Campobello, SC in 1986, James used to come over and borrow equipment for his reopened 1-man shop down the highway.

Stock Car Racing History

Hmmm... I've seen very hurt feelings sometime when the track promoter won his own event. From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

Thanks, Ray. Their pies were the world's best. Made my mouth water when Shan Coughlin started talking about them on the Racing Through History broadcast.
