A Flashback for The Legend - Plymouth Furys

Perhaps we just need to change the subject and engage in a plan of CYA!

A Flashback for The Legend - Plymouth Furys

General

I seriously considered attending Seminary and studying for the ministry. According to my Funk & Wagnalls, er King James... Legend is right on the money:

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Looks to me like it is ok for we guys to appreciate our single lady neighbors, just not the other guys.

A Flashback for The Legend - Plymouth Furys

I thought immediately of RR member, Tim Leeming - The Legend - when I saw this little video on YouTube.

I know there are misspellings and errors, but it harkens back to simpler days.

Al Grinnan at Wilson in #15 - 1975 - Tim Hamm photo

The 301 area code of the sponsor is out of Maryland, where Charlie Tabor who owned Al's #42 lived.

Al drove the #15 dirt car at Wilson... I think it was out of Tidewater, Va., Charles. He was also driving the #42 and #00 on asphalt at the same time.

You can see that several things changed in 1973 at Martinsville from the preliminary Dogwood 500 entry list. Coleman Mann is listed on the preliminary entry list as the driver/owner of #00, with Al in another car. Note our RR member, Wayne Andrews at the top of the preliminary list in car #0 and Sam Ard farther down in #05. Al Grinnan was originally expected in the Tiny Slayton #29, before he went out in Coleman's car and set the track record.

What would you pay today for one more chance to see this field of cars & drivers??

That is indeed the Coleman Mann from Powhatan car, with Bubba Tatum behind it in the #83. I'm like you... don't know if Al was still in it in 1975 or not. I was living in Wilson in 1975 and driving up only 2-3 times on Friday night to Southside.

Al won the 1973 NASCAR Virginia State Late Model Sportsman Championship in those orange #00 Chevelles fielded by Coleman Mann from Powhatan.
