Dave, incredibly, I have never heard of the Winston Cup Museum. I am amazed and disappointed that I haven't. We surely should get a group together to visit. What a treasure trove of memories that place will hold.
Front page of the sports section of today's State Newspaper in South Carolina, under the "Auto Racing" caption, for an article by Jenna Fryer with the Associated Press, is headlined "FORD UNVEILS 'SEXY LOOKING' 2013 FUSION". There is already a Forum Post on line here showing the pictures and containing comments. The purpose of adding this Post is to quote certain portions of that article from The State as made by Mike Helton. Mr. Helton states"
"The NASCAR Nation is made up of car enthusiasts and NASCAR fans certainly love to pull for a brand or make of car second only being able to pull for their favorite driver".
"Today is a very significant landmark for us. It brings us back to the relevancy of NASCAR on the race track to what fans have in their homes and in their parking lots and garages and at their parking lots at work".
Mr. Helton, welcome to RacersReunion. We are happy to have you here and hope this is the start of NASCAR listening to what we say here and what we display here. We love our NASCAR and what is happening with the Ford Fusion is the beginning of what we hope is the realization by NASCAR that there are things that matter to we older fans, the fans that used to fill your grandstands and support the sponsors wholeheartedly. Even if we realize the appearance of the car to what we drive is only superficial, it is, at the minimum, a reflection on the early days. The winner of the very first race in the division now referred to as "Cup" was disqualifed for one small infraction removing his car for the totally "stock" classification. We all realize the cars can not longer be stock, or purchased from the showroom and converted,but it is nice to have the appearance of a stock car and being able to determine a Ford from a Chevy, from a Dodge, from a Toyota without the decals.
So, this is one small step for NASCAR, one giant leap for NASCAR fans. Hang with us Mr. Helton, and together we can help each other achieve what we all want.

I have a very vague recollection of this. I remember the couple more than I do the Caboose but I do remember seeing it several times. I have no idea what happened to them but that is a part of nostalgia of the best kind to remember such kind folks as I recall those two to be.

Yep, upon his return from WWII, my Dad went to work for Kodak. All my uncles there in Rochester worked for Kodak. Everytime we visited Rochester, we went by the plant. All my camera and all my film was Kodak all my life up until about 10 years ago. It is a sad day.
In the interest of Bambi, which I watched with the grandson the other day, I will say nothing about this.
That is excellent news! Ned is at the top of the list of great people. That fact that he was good in a race car is a footnote to his life.
