At the Charlotte races this weekend?

General

I won't be there this time BT. But watch the Forum posts for a possible news flash coming out of the Lair about something coming up soon. Maybe, possibly.

Good point BT. I not even considered that. I just look at all the pictures for hours at the time, but you are exactly right. I'm sure Jeff will see your post and provide an answer. Thanks for pointing out that inconsistency.

Moonshiners & Revenuers Reunion Wasn't Open to the Public

General

Our local news, last night, October 13, 2011, showed the bust of a huge still in Orangeburg, SC, about 40 miles from my house. And I missed my chance to be a runner!!!!! I was asked about that once when I was racing in Augusta but I thought the guy was kidding me. Anyway, one of the "caught" in Orangeburg yesterday told the "revenuers" that he was selling 100 gallons of the stuff a week. Must be a good market for it out there.

Thanks for sharing this Dave. Awesome story and next time I would like an invitation and the password.

Restyling Cars to Look Like Showroom Models Appeals to fans & Drives Sales

General

Yes, yes, yes!!!!!! Back to the sixties, maybe the seventies. I so vividly remember watching the 1962 Daytona 500 from up against the fence in turn one. The difference in that black and gold number 22 Pontiac and that Petty Blue number 43 Plymouth was so distinct but watching that little blue Plymouth hang on the back of that big Pontiac is something I always think of when February comes around. We need the cars on the track to look like the cars in the showroom. We all understand the "S" in NASCAR no longer stands for "Stock" but there should be something that makes the difference appear evident to even the casual fan! Oh, I wish I had a 62 Plymouth!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a Long Wait, but Worth It

General

Dave, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I shall set aside appropriate time to read every word. In asmuch as Ann assumes the reference to "lair" indicates you and I have had conversations regarding her position of my racing again, the lair is where I wil be staying, sleeping and eating for plenty long enough to finish that book. Thank you my friend.

Speedway honors 102-year-old woman

General

That is really a great honor and I am very pleased to read this good news. It is nice of Charlotte Motor Speedway to do such a good deed but,in reality, and this is not asking for more, more, more, but they should put this sweet lady in the best corporate box available for the entire race weekend. This is as much an honor to the Speedway as it is to this 102 year old fan. After all, someone who has lived and experienced all she has in life and wants to be a part of NASCAR racing deserves the absolute best available.

The Funnel Bacakonator Beats Danica Patrick Fit Fuel Menu Any Day

General

Dave, I read this yesterday on Yahoo News and almost mentioned it on the show last night but thought better of it due to my constant desire to be eating something. In reality, when I look at the pictures, I don't find the food to be that appealing, any of it. I certainly don't need the fat grams!!!! But thanks for posting as I sit here in the office on my lunch hour eating my little protien bar! Thankfully tonight is church supper and that's always good food!

Love the "Food for Thought" Dave. Thanks. Brought back some awesome memories. Really got into thinking of all that good music I would listen to driving to and from the races.

Dave,I did check out that website and read every word of every page. I simply cannot comment at this time as it shocks me that no one here, least of all me, had ever heard of that company or even knew such an enterprise existed. Sick, Dave? Yes, I may be feeling a little under the weather at the moment because I really can't seem to grasp the idea that there are people who operate thusly, business or not business. I may comment at a later date. Thanks for posting it Dave.
