Henry Jones
Frank Warren
One of NASCAR's most successful independent drivers. Not sure of date for photograph. An Augusta native, Frank now lives in Naples, Florida and is doing just fine. He has a street named after him at the former Augusta International Raceway and is engraved on the Augusta International Raceway memorial.
Frank was very satisfied being a transplanted southern gentleman, but many of his friends in Springfield, Mass claim he is a "Yankee" through-and-through. He worked with Walt Disney World here in Orlando for 30 years before moving "South" to enjoy his retirement. One of the best mechanics who ever looked under the hood of a car, whether it be a race car or the family limo.In fact, he maintained the race car for Marty Robbins for many years.A fine man.......No matter where he is from.
Dargan you are correct. Frank is originally from Mass. but made Augusta his "native" home after being discharged from Fort Gordon here in Augusta. I had the pleasure of helping dedicate Frank Warren Drive here in Augusta a couple of years back and also had the pleasure of hearing many of his interesting NASCAR stories during his stay on Frank Warren Drive. He was instrumental in helping the Augusta International Raceway Preservation Society (AIRPS) expands our memorial at the former track that is being developed into Diamond Lakes Regional Park. What a gentleman.
