Noticed the picture above was from Myrtle Beach, was itwhen it seemed no one there had any knowledge of how to line the cars up after they qualified 68 cars. The promoter got so mad and said they were going to run the race. I actual qualified 5th and he lined us upin the middle of the pack. When I took the lead, a slow car I was passing turned down in front of me, causing me and himself to wreck, with all cars behind us, I think. I had a broken knee joint and knee cap also. I wouldn't go to the hospital because I knew Barbara (my wife) would get killed coming down, as it was the first time since I started racing , she was unable to come with me! I really don't know who all was hurt, nor who won the race. I never had a news clipping from any paper or magazine, so I could read to find out about all the guys. I made myselfa promise, after I got out of the hospital, I would never, ever start a race on any track where they start 68 cars, which is more than NASCAR starts. Am going to check again with Bobby Williamson to see if there was a write-up which his Dad had, any clippings from that race. Was this picture, the one Sam was in and lost some teeth? If you have or know anyone who may have something, please let me know. I am still stiff in the left knee and cannot bend it. Could be the way the Lord was telling me it was time to quit, LOL.Sure hope all of you are doingbetter now!! Have thought about all of you and prayed so many times and will continue to do so. God bless and we love you all.Billy and Barbara Scott
