I was reading some old news clippings from 1960 and there was a driver Named Alley Oop that raced at Hartsville.....Does anyone know his real identity?

My maiden name was Sanders and my father was Alton John Sanders ( AJ ) My father was a long distance truck driver until his death in 1968. He was approched by Pontiac. Inc. at the time and wanted him to race for him. My mother is from Hartsville and she is going to try and find out this information for me . She is now 85 yrs. young and yet she can tell me all about what happened in her life as a child yet, can't remember what happened yesterday. Guess after 8 children I wouldn't want to remember things either. I guess I would like to know if you know anything about my father, maybe. Is my father in the clippings that you have? Also, are you from Hartsville and if so , where ? I will find this information for you and I will let you know as soon as I find something out. Hope to talk to you soon.

Sorry, I guess I should let everyone know that I am the wife of Jeffrey---my mom didn't name me that ! I tell everybody that I only sleep with Richard Petty every night I just don't have his bank account. HE Eats, Breathe's and Sleeps Nascar !!!!
