I figured I would post a little blog on my season this year. I'm sure if nothing else it should be entertaining.4/11 After having a terrible practice 3 weeks ago and the March 28th race being rained out at Gordon Park Speedway in Augusta. We rolled into the track this week with high hopes after being able to tweak on the car a couple of extra weeks. Yeah right. First thing I did discover Saturday morning is that our 5 year old, dependable, gel cel battery has lost at least 1 cell and holding a good charge wasn't on the agenda. OK pray that the Altenator holds out. We get the car on the track in hots laps and WOW, feels good and wants to go. I did notice the water temp was a little higher than expected so I backed off on the timing a little and waited for my heat. OK heat time and we get the green and lose 1 spot, started 4th and on the next lap get it back and the old 4 cyl starts a poppin and I go to the pits. Scratch my head and lose a few more hair folicles, find #4 cyl is fouled with water?. Ok the car did idle for a long time waiting on my heat, and everything else looked good, so we swapped in a new plug. (OK maybe not the best idea). OK so I line up for the feature 16th, yeah and there were still cars behind me. We get the green flag and WOW again as off we go hanging on the outside and at lap 2 miss the wreak and slow for the yellow and have made it too 9th place, alright this is how it's supposed to be. Check my gauges and say goodnight. Water temp is now 270deg. Put the car in the trailer and we'll deal with it this week. Next race April 25. Hopefully have it back together so we can show it at the reunion Sat morning and haul to Gorodn Park the night.
