1964 Junior Johnson Southern 500 crash
Junior Johnson "The Last American Hero" spins out in turn 4 at Darlington's Southern 500. Sitting motionless 'Lil Bud Moore comes along and creams Johnson car. Later it was discovered that the Holman & Moody Ford's metal was acid dipped to reduce weight, hence the reason the car crumbled so badly in the impact with Moore.
Hi Jim would you have any pictures of LiL Bud Moores car from this race? The 45 car was my families car along with Louie Weathersbee.
I don't have a photo of Lil Bud Moore. Sorry
