MAARN:June 12, 1987-Pg 7-JOHN VALLO DOMINATES "DAYTON 100"--XENIA, OH - June 5 - The "Miamisburg Flash", John Vallo and the Joe King owned-Stengers Truck Center T-Bird captured the "Dayton 100" for Late Models at Kil-Kare Speedway Friday night. The win was worth $3,500 for the duo. Eighteen cars started the century grin with tenth fast qualifier Wes Wilson holding the lead for the first seven circuits on the third-mile asphalt track. former Mini-Stock champ Pat Jones then took over for the next ten circuits. Next to lead was defending track champ Dick Dunlevy Jr. who had the lead until lap 21 when Bill Cantley brought the only yellow out when he stopped on the top of turn four. Vallo was riding third after starting ninth when the yellow appeared. Driving a V-6 powered racer, Vallo somewhere found a surge of power as he shot around Jones and Dunlevy for the lead. He continued to pull away from the field lapping all but the fourth place running Jones. This marked the first time a V-6 has won a feature at Kil-Kare. Dunlevy was home second followed by fast timer Robbie Dean (14.01), Jones, and Tim Ice.
