COLUMBUS, OH. VALLO VICTORIOUS IN MAIN EVENT: The Main Event VI, twice postponed because of rain, finally had cooperation from Mother Nature and went off Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23-24. 148 cars competed in 3 divisions of racers in hopes of the big purse payday. John Vallo walked home with $12,740, which was by far his biggest career win.
Vallo took command on lap 68 when Bill Cantley, who had taken the lead on lap 16 from Jerry Mitchell, pitted for fresh tires. Mike Miller also went in for tires and came back strong to finish 2nd followed by Robbie Dean, Cantley and Mitchell, Joe Shear, Mike Ward, John Cline, Gary Carter and Fred Campbell.
