MAARN:Sept.17,1973;Pg15:VALLO NOTCHES KIL-KARE WIN & COLUMBUS TITLE:Sept. 7 - John Vallo of Miamisburg, Ohio raced Jerry Gara's '73 Camaro to his 6th win of the season at Kil-Kare speedway, as he bested Marvin Smith in the 35 lap late model feature event. The 22 year old speedster not only won the final race of the season but captured the track championship as well. Consistency has been Vallo's forte on the race track and he proved it once again this friday with another smooth performance behind the wheel. For the second week in a row, Marvin Smith was fast qualifier with a 14.92 lap. Wes Wilson took the honours in the 6 lap dash, while Marvin Smith and George Glick posted 10 lap heat wins.Vallo's season long performance earned the young racer the track title as he finished all 16 feature events with 6 wins and 15 finishes in the top 5. Only once, was Vallo out ot the select five spots with a 6th place finish early in the year and was fast qualifier 7 times.
