They are way to busy counting their money to worry about us and I hate to say it but the new effort involving a NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte is going to be a disaster after the initial newness wears off. They simply do not get it and they simply need to get out to some of the Vintage/Historic organizations and events that are beginning to form.I know of no other individual, organization or country in the history of mankind that does not have an interest in its history - except NASCAR.And, that all stems from the fact that they (the Big Brass like a lot of stock car fans) believe that NASCAR history has to be tied to Moonshine - which it does not.How in the Hell are they going to get things figured out when they, themselves, do not know or do not want to learn about how stock car racing actually started. It was not the Moonshine, it was the cars! Let me repeat that - stock car racing did not begin by hauling Moonshine up and down the highway. It began when those cars (no moonshine onboard) gathered to conduct racing events.Damn simple to me.Forget the illegal booze misconception and focus on the drivers and the cars! This is another case (just like the history of the South in general) where history has been re-written and it is incorrect. How can people be smart enough to become multi-millionairs but stupid enough not to explore the history that got them the millions.Go figure................................

Re-writing history...now there's a concept. I see it taking shape already. Just like hearing tv commentators comparing Kyle baby's wins to Lee Petty and Junior Johnson and the like. And like the dude who wrote the book saying the King's record was overrated. Some who support this say the King could not have been competitive in today's NASCAR. Well I say many of taday's stars couldn't have held onto a steering wheel when the King did his thing.Let's face it ...if we don't continue our efforts...they WILL re-write history and they WILL leave out the best parts. I have heard it said that Bill Jr contended that this is his circus and he gets to choose the clowns. I commend the organization for staying in business for over 60 years....not many can say that. But, I think the old saying."you can't know where you're going if you don't know where you've been" still holds true.Keep on keepin on, gang.

lets just admit it-----we all got good points and very, very few bad ones. Its going to take a pretty good shake up to open their eyes unless they do something pretty quick---and that charlotte thing as much as i admire its location has got to be handled with kid gloves or its a floppppp---------
