I attended the Feb 4th 1950 Modified Race. I sat in the South Grandstands. On the first lap the cars had picked up to speed going down the back stretch (HWY 1A1). I don't know how many cars wrecked on the 3rd turn, but I'm sure it was at least 25 (over 100 started).
