Lincoln County is gearing up for Apple Festival 2010. Each year we have an upwards attendance of approximately 80,000 folks. Our festival is unique in that all of the food vendors are non-profit organizations located within Lincoln County and our craft vendors must be from Lincoln County or a county that touches ours. We also have information booths, kiddie rides and a kids area, local entertainment and on the fourth block of East Main Street will be the grand daddy of them all. Jimmy Johnson will be in attendance and will be bringing with him a 1955 Chevrolet race car. The car was used in the ESPN movie "3"--The Dale Earnhardt Story. We are so excited to have Jimmy and can't wait to see the car. Many thanks to Aleax Beam of Memory Lane Museum in Mooresville, NC for putting us in touch with Mr. Johnson. If you have not been to the museum, you have truly missed some spectacular vehicles. He has everything from the earliest cars as well as motorcycles and vintage toy riding cars. Admission is only $10 and I encourage you to visit.

That block will also have dirt track race cars from East Lincoln Speedway, motorcycles from the Gaston Hog Chapter and many more exciting things.
