3 Speed Johhny outta Beaver Springs?

Any of you young OLD timers rememeber a guy that went by "3 Speed Johnny" that raced outta Beaver Springs in the 60's? He ran a Chevy smallblock with 3 on the tree. A local fav feller. But wondered his real full name.
