This is an aerial shot of Franklin County Speedway on August 6th, 1983. Definitely the biggest race in the now 40 year history of the speedway. Rick Mast was going for a $25,000 bonus for sweeping three 100-lap Late Model Sportsman races in a row. The track is already packed with cars lined up all the way down the speedway access road and onto the state highway. This picture is from the Roanoke Times and World News.
