Many of you heard of Curtis Crawfish Crider, but let me tell you something from I new him personally. The first time I met Curtis was Oct. of 2010. His son and I had only been dating about a month. Curtis welcomed me into his home and made me feel like family. Always asked if I was hungry and to help myself. His son Dean and I were married this past April. The one thing I will never forget he did and said to me is. Curtis leaned into me and put his arm around me and looked me in the eye and said welcome to the family. It bought a tear to my eye. I will never forget that momment. The morning of Oct 17th is when Curtis went into the hospital with what we thought was a mini stroke. His son and I never missed a day of visiting him. He recognized us all the way up to the day he passsed. The day he passed he was surronded by family we all stood around his bed singing amazing grace. The most craziest thing about the room that he was in there were flags above his bed and right above his bed almost center was a checkered flag granted it was blue and white not black and white but by God it was checkered and he made his final lap and took that checkered flag CURTIS CRAWFISH CRIDER MAY YOU FOREVER REST IN PEACE 10-7 1930 - 12-21-2012

Kris, What wonderful sentiments and touching words from your heart. You my dear, will never regret carrying on your Father-in-Laws legacy. You will not only learn much here, as the members are the wisest people you shall ever meet in this world of racing, but you will not..and I repeat, will not find anymore welcoming or loving place. We are truly Family here....

I had the pleasure of speaking with Curtis a few times leading up to his induction into the RacersReunion Memory Lane Hall of Fame in 2010. We also had him as a guest on our radio show. He will surely be missed, but forever remembered. Here is a link to the class with which he was inducted. http://stockcar.racersreunion.com/forum/topics/inductees-elected-for-the-2010 If you're ever in the area, you should visit our Hall of Fame display. It is inside Memory lane Museum in Mooresville. NC. Thank for joining us, Kris.
