LIFE IS A STOCK CAR RACE

By Rev. Andrew Pollock

Hospice Chaplain

Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia / Flagler

"My life is but a Stock Car race, between the Lord and me;

I cannot choose the track or car, so I stomp the throttle and speed.

Oft times theres wrecks and crashes, and I in foolish pride;

Forget the Lords the Crew Chief, and Im to just sit and drive.

Not till the race is over and engines cease to roar;

Shall God reveal the winner, and tally up the score.

The yellow flag of caution, that sends us to the pits to re-fuel,

Is just as necessary as the checkered flag of victory, to obtain the royal jewel.
