My dear friend, it is your Historic Speedway Group that are the real champions here. I remember so much that day.... where Toni & I sat in the stands in 1950 at Occoneechee, and thinking about 1960 at the Orange Speedway when Ralph came in third place winning $225.00 after friend Ray Platte spun out while leading the race. Joe Alcoke said "we would have won that race, but the condenser kept cutting out in the third turn." The tears in my eyes were of bittersweet joy because I'd rather have seen him there wearing that helmet and jacket. Someone once said that you never die as long as you're remembered, and I thank you all for remembering Ralph Rose. He was my father, my hero and my friend, and I will love him "Always."
