In the NASCAR-SPRINT Cup points race at the Bristol Motor Speedway Spring event, Bowyer started the #07 Jack Daniels' Chevrolet 3rd in the lineup for Sundays Food City 500 and finished 3rd. His gain of seven spots to 9th in the standings was the biggest of the drivers making all 5 races so far this season.
