My Manager/Producer Mr. Jon Holtz's mother Mrs. Susan S. Broyles, 60, of the Asheville Highway, passed away 4:15pm EST, Aug. 25, 2008 at Life Care Center of Greeneville. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time she was called home by the Lord.A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at Mount Hebron United Methodist Church of Greeneville, TN Aug. 30, 2008 at 7:30pm EST. May piece be with her and her beloved family.A Note About Jon:In spite of being under extreme emotional stress and sleep-deprivation, Jon worked his tail off for me Wednesday and Thursday during the World of Outlaws Late Model Series 'Scorcher' that was held on Aug. 20-21, 2008 at Volunteer Speedway. We also spent some good quality time with our good friend Mr. Richard Childress and his grandson Ty Dillon who won the COURTESY CHEVROLET CRATE LATE MODEL (25-lap) race Thursday night at "The Gap".In addition, Jon displayed an impeccable work performance both days on the following Friday and Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway which landed me a personal meeting with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and another trip to Victory Lane with Carl Edwards and Mr. Jack Roush to help them celebrate their second win of the Sharpie 500 with the ROUSH-FENWAY number 99 Office Depot team.As part of Jon's Saturday workload and effort, I performed some Southern Stand-Up Comedy for the fans with Clint Bowyer at the Jack Daniels' hospitality tent before the start of the Sharpie 500 as part of a Special Promotion w/ RCR, Jack Daniels, and WarHead Records. The crowd turnout was amazing. Special Thanks To Jon Holtz: You're there when I need you most, you bust your hump to keep me in the public-eye, you get little credit for your hard work, and at the end of the day, you make no bones about it.I'm truly sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this dark time.God bless,Lee Roy Mercer Jon Holtz & Riki Rachtman - Sharpie 500 2008 - Bristol Motor Speedway - Photo By Poet K. A. Steffek

I would like to thank everyone for sending out their condolences to Jon Holtz and his family. As you can possibly image, Jon has taken the loss of his mother very hard, but he knows she's in a much better place where there's no pain or suffering. The record company has given Jon and myself this month off in order that Jon may get the matter of his mother's estate settled. Next month we'll be back on the road in rare-form with the NASCAR circuit and elsewhere. First stop will be one of my all time favorite short-tracks, Martinsville Speedway. With everything Jon's been through, he's still managed to workout a deal for us with Tony Stewart for next season. Tony and his people been talking with Jon about working on some all new prank calls and there's also talk about a new LEE ROY MERCER -Vs- TONY STEWART Whoop-Ass! T-Shirt which would have a shot of Smoke and me duking it out. Proceeds from the T-shirt to benefit the Tony Stewart Foundation.
