Calling All Racers

If you are a racer especially you know that today(February 18th) is a very sad day. Today is the day The Man who set the standards and gave us all a great show (or in some of your cases great competition) lost his life. i was only 5 1/2 the day it happened but i can still hear Darrel Waltrips frantic cries for dale to get out of the car. now I'm tearin' up but i just wanted to give a spot for everyone to remember. i didn't know him personally but when i think of him going out like that it makes me realize no one is invulnerable.

I enjoyed reading this post and your personal experience. I, too, believe he hung on and didn't give it a second thought. I thought about him on the 18th, as I saw a mention of it in the newspaper. He had a wonderful life and left the sport doing what he loved, as have others. I've always admired him and other drivers for finding a way to do what they love in good and bad economic times.
