Robert Franklin Bobby Glass, 82, of Spotsylvania County, originally of the Hoadly area of Woodbridge, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Glass had retired from Baird Concrete and then became a farmer. He was a NASCAR driver in the 1960s, and was a legend at Old
Dominion Speedway in Manassas and Beltsville Speedway in Maryland. Mr. Glass was an avid Redskins fan.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Ann Glass; four children, Sheila Kurtz (Kalvin) of Mine Run, Sherry Hannum (Bob) of Manassas, Don Glass (Carol) of Mooresville, N.C. and Sheena Blevins (Lee) of Fredericksburg; son-in-law Danny Blodgett of Spotsylvania; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Jo Seese of Freeport, Fla., and Charlotte Bell of Woodbridge; and two brothers, Wayne Mosser of Spotsylvania and Gary Mosser of Woodbridge. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Blodgett; sisters Mildred Cornwell and Nola Papajohn; and brothers George Mosser, Charles Mosser and Lawrence Glass.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association for Research, 2217 Princess Anne St. Suite 106-1F, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
