Its been 21 years since Paul Andrews engineered and masterminded Alan Kulwickis memorable come from behind victory in the 1992 NASCAR Winston Cup Championship. Alans tragic death on April 1, 1993 is well documented and in the years following this tragedy Paul has stayed busy working as a NASCAR crew chief for drivers such as Michael Waltrip, Steve Parks., Geoff Bodine, Kyle Petty and Bobby Labonte. To date, Paul has earned 12 victories and 30 poles in his career as a NASCAR crew chief.

Now at the age of 55 Paul is the General Manager for Cunningham Motorsports, a front running ARCA and Penske Driver Development team based in Mooresville, NC. co-owned by Briggs Cunningham and former motorcycle racer, Kerry Scherer.

Under their leadership and with Pauls expertise, Cunningham has become ARCAs go-to organization where up-and-coming racers come to the track comfortable in the knowledge that the equipment theyre driving is top shelf. This allows them to focus on driving as the results they earn can pave their way to the big stage.

Some of the drivers that have driven for Cunningham Motorsports recently include Juan Pablo Montoya, Patrick Long, Chase Miller, Scott Lagasse, Jr., Tim Andrews, Frank Kimmel, Steven Wallace and Justin Labonte.

In ARCA, Paul and the Cunningham crew have won the Rookie of the Year award three of the last four years with Dakota Armstrong, Parker Klingerman and in 2012, Alex Bowman. Alex notably and most recently, scored six poles, led the most laps, won four races and took home the Rookie honors.

For 2013, in ARCA, Cunningham welcomes Tom Hessert back to the team for a full season ride in the #77. Tom last ran with Cunningham in 2010 when he finished third in the championship and he is on a mission to win it all in 2013.

For Daytona Tom will be joined by Frenchman, Michel Disdier in the #22. Driver candidates are being currently considered for other races in the desirable #22 seat.

Joining Cunningham over the winter was Pauls son, Tim Andrews, a NASCAR K&N race winning driver, driver coach and a respected chassis engineer with Nationwide and Camping World Truck experience. Tims coming on board has helped allow Cunningham to expand into the NASCAR K&N series this year with teenage racers, Austin Self and Anderson Bowen scheduled to drive the majority of the 2013 K&N East schedule. The team does have seats still open for several K&N East races including the road course event at Road Atlanta in October.

While a return to Sprint Cup is a goal, Paul is concentrating on delivering ARCA and K&N results on the track while lending his experience to tutor his young charges.
