Burt Myers Wins 7th Annual North South Shootout At Concord Motorsport ParkNovember 14,2009Concord,NC.By Mike Ray and Ms.HotrodThe Charlie Daniels Band had a hit record with the song,"The South's Gonna Do It Again" and Burt Myers ofWalnut Cove,NC.did it again when he won the 7th Annual John Blewett III Memorial North South Shootout thispast Saturday at Concord Motorsport Park.Myers drove his JRC Investments Ford Mustang under the wavingcheckered for the second year in a row.Myers thanked his fans,family,crew and sponsors from victory lane.Rowan Pennick,Huntingdon Valley,PA. roared under the stripe in 2nd place followed by Doug Coby,Milford,CT.in 3rd place with Matt Hirschman,Northampton,PA. and Jamie"The Jet"Tomaino,Howell,N.J. rounding out thetop 5 finishers in the 125 lap Tour Type feature.Myers now joins John Blewett III and Matt Hirschman as back toback winners of the Tour Type Modified feature event.Matt Hirschman,Northampton,PA. was the winner of the SK modified feature event.Hirschman held off DougCoby,Milford,CT. to become the first person to win both the Tour Type Mod feature and the SK mod feature.Ted Christopher,Planville,CT. came home in 3rd place with Steven Reed,Freehold,N.J. and Ronnie Silk,Milford,CT. making up the top 5 finishers in the exciting feature event.Jeff Fultz,Troutman,NC.scored an emotional victory in the CRA Super Late Model event.Fultz lost his 21 year old sonearlier in the week,so this victory was extra special to him.Jeff thanked his many fans,his crew and sponsorsfrom victory lane.John VanDoor,Coopersville,MI. grabbed the runnerup position with Cassius Clark,Farmington,ME.in 3rd place,Preston Peltier,Concord,NC. and 13 year old Chase Elliott,Dawsonville,GA. rounded out the top 5finishers.The TBRA Sprints made their 1st appearance at the shootout and David Steele,Tampa,FL. was the winner.Troy DeCaire finished in 2nd place with D.J. Hoelzle in 3rd,Jason Blonde in 4th and Mickey Kengins in 5th placewhen the crossed stripes flew.The Vintage Modified winner was Pete Brittain,Oakhurst,NJ. and the Vintage Sportsman winner was AnthonyColosimo of Red Bak,NJ.By the Grace of God and 600 horsepower hope to see you at the races!
