Ronnie Silk Grabs New Smyrna Modified Victory On CordsFebruary 8,2010Samsula,Fl.By Mike Ray and Ms.HotrodThe Tour Type Modified's always put on a whale of a show at New Smyrna Speedway.Tonight's25 lap feature was no exception with Ronnie Silk driving the tires off to grab the hard fought victory.When Silk pulled into victory lane the cords of his tires were showing.Silk grabbed the lead early buthad to hold off numerous challenges from Ted Christopher and John Jensen to score his first win ofthe 2010 World Series.Silk thanked his car owner,crew,family and fans from victory lane.The Milford,Ct. hotshot could be sitting in 3rd place in points after tonight's victory.John Jensen is holding down 2ndplace with last year's champ T.C. in 1st place in the point's chase.The 25 lap feature event for the ASA/Crate Late Model was a wild affair with numerous lead changesthrough out the night.When the smoke had cleared Stephen Nasse was standing in victory lane afteranother fine run.Dustin Delaney roared under the stripe in 2nd place with Kurt Jett and Brandon Johnsonrounding out the top 4 positions.Nasse thanked his sponsors,fans and crew from victory lane.The TBARA Winged Sprints made their final appearance of the 2010 World Series and Troy DeCairepicked up the winners hardware.The Winged warriors on the 1/2 speedplant are something to see!Keith Rucco,Wallingford,Ct. nailed down the win in the SK Modified 20 lap feature event.The beating and bangingstarted early and Rucco had the pedal to the metal to get his 1st 2010 World Series victory.PatrickEmerling held off Jeff Choquette to come home in second place.Chris Jensen brought his hot rod homein 4th place with Nichole Morgillo in 5th place when the checkered flag flew.Rucco thanked his crew,familyand fans from victory lane.The Fl.Modified feature was another slam bam event with battles for the lead but Fl.driver Jerry Symonswas up to the task and roared under the stripe in first place.Travis Eddy drove a fine race coming home in 2nd place.Fl. veterans Jason Boyd and Tank Tucker rounded out the top 4 positions.Symons thanked his family,crew and fans from victory lane.The action continues tonight;Day 5,night 4 at Florida's beautiful 1/2 oval.New Smyrna Speedway islocated 15 miles south of Daytona on Fl. state road 44.By the Grace of GOD and 600 horsepower!Hopeto see you at the races.
