Bob Hoffman a writer and publisher has joined RR. He came from the good old days of racing coverage before TV and before radio had started covering racing. This form of coverage was by news papers He started covering racing in 1958 and done so through the mid 80s. He and Hank Schoolfield started Southern Motor Racing and ran it till he sold out. I hope he will send us into history by sharing some of his many thousand stories. We hope that we never forget these guys that kept us informed of racing stories even before radio and TV came along. Men such as Herman Hickman,Don O Reilly,Chris Economaki,Houston Lawing Benny Phillips and countless others helped to shape the history of racing by there vivid imaginations and colorful stories. Lets all welcome Bob to RR and thank him for helping make racing what it is today.

Mike,I think you are writing about two different publications. Bob was editor of Southern Motorsports Journal, which originated in High Point, but later was headquartered in Alabama after Hoffman moved to that area. Southern Motor Racing was a different publication and it may have been headed up by Schoolfield.Anyway, it is certainly great to learn that Bob is now with Racers Reunion.
