Hi gang! you all know I was an old LMS hand till 81. The Modified race at Bristol was "FANTASTIC" for an "EDITED" version. I was in high anticipation for this televised event, especially since for some odd reason the Modified race at Loudon was not televized. I was dissapointed that the "ModSquad" does not get more tv exposure BUT wait "ASSCAR" gets what "ASSCAR" wants. Well anyway i have been looking forward to watching this race for a while I had not seen the modifieds since my last year in the LMS division in 81, i caught them at Martinsville for the Cardinal and Dogwood classics (which they don't do anymore) and that was the the 2 top divisions under the cup series at that time. It was like a modified and LMS Super bowl! I knew the trucks were running the same night about 8 so i figured the modifieds would be on about 5 BUT to my shock the race would be on at 7, 1 hour before the truck race?????? I know the modifieds are quick but they are not going to do 150 laps in an hour then i heard the word "EDITED" WHAT THE HELL??? Oh that is right, God forbid they show an entire Modified race because it is not one of "ASSCAR'S" top 3 touring divisions. i mean why should "ASSCAR" remember and show some respect for one of the 2 divisions that built it to where it is today? I enjoyed the "EDITED" event, they could not have had 2 better commentators, Mike Joy and Dr. Dick Bergeron. Intellignet and informative without all that pretty boy joking around and NO "BOOGITY,BOOGITY,BOOGITY"!!!!!! I have always said if these people could go back in time when i was in NASCAR the fun of short track Modified and LMS racing they would feel the same way I do. God forbid "ASSCAR" is too big now to remember what built them up, and not to remember their roots.I hope i live to see the day "ASSCAR" has to eat some humble pie or crow. this is just another way that they have alienated old race fans who grew up in NASCAR as I did from this sport, they keep on driving a wedge deeper an deeper. i just wish they could get their noses out of the clouds wake up and say "WE MADE A MISTAKE" but i don't think so. All we can do is the memories, i had some tonight, Mike Stefanik, Jamie Tamanio, and Len Bohler's son Mike running the blue #3. "ASSCAR" been pissing me off since 1981 and other people for as long as i can remember! LMS and Modifieds FOREVER
