folks,
We've all seen older drag cars with Moon fuel tanks mounted on/in the front of the car. Either on the grille as on some of the A/FXers or in the case of some Gassers and Altereds right in front of the engine.
My question is this, Would these cars with the Moon tanks in front rely on ELECTRICAL FUEL PUMPS or MECHANICAL PUMPS mounted on the engine ?
Pete,There was few if any reliable electric pumps in those days. Most cars in that era ran mostly mechanical pumps mounted in stock location on engine or larger gear pumps running off cam drive. The cam drive pumps were used on injection units such as on A/FX and others using mostly the Hilborn straight tube injection units.Don
Don,Thanks for the info !!!
