I remember Maynard Troyer from my first trip to Daytona for Speeweeks in 1971. In the 500 he did an end over end role between turns 1 & 2. I think that was the last time he drove in Grand National. Great modified division competitor from New York. I can still see that in my mind 37 years later.

paul i was they to in 1971 i make 32 daytona 500 races plus 28 firecracker 400 races

I loved to go thee I enjoyed the Sportsman race the most, I was thee when they had that firey wreck in 79, Do you remember when the GT class ran the road course during speedweeks, don't get me wrong all of it was neat but I have my personal favorite. Remeber when the 400 was raced on July 4, and it started at 10 in the morning? Ah Ray , the memories!
