I started going to Langley 1971. That hole filled gaurdrail on the backstrech leaned outwards from so many crashes it was almost ramp like. I saw a VW Bug mini stocker ramp off it one night and scare the crap out off a guy in a tree trying to watch for free. A few people did that back then but I think they put a stop to it after that. On that little asphalt rent a go kart track Langley had in the parking lot I raced Sonny Hutchins son while Sonny watched and spun him into a bunch of parked karts leaving one leaning against a drink machine after he spun and drenched me into a big muddy water puddle in the infeild. I'd always rent a couple races before the stockers got fired up. Great saturday nite fun for a 14 year old kid.

Hey Bryan do you remember the night (early 80's I think)in the LMSC feature, Charlie Doyle, Elton Sawyer, and one other driver went simulaneously over the 3rd turn Gaurdrail? Thankfully, no one got hurt, but they knocked out two light poles...instead of postponing the remainder of the race, they lined up a bunch of cars in the 3rd turn grass and pointed the headllights toward the fence, so the drivers could see,...talk about old school!! It was after that season that Langley went to double rails, before then, the rails were definetly Evel Knievel ramps!
